Dumb Chicken

Dumb Chicken- Clay sculpture, painted

My clay piece, "Dumb Chicken" was made entirely from a mistake.  I had a little bit of clay that I wanted to play with and let inspiration come to me.  My original plan was to create a comical mask of a friend's face, but I realized I would rather make a comical chicken.

I feel like the texture I used for this sculpture was really fun to play around with and I wouldn't mind using a similar texture in the future.

I painted the chicken black and made sure to cover all of the exposed clay in black before I used my fingers to place white and brown on the feathers.

I think that if I had the chance to do this again I would at least attempt to make it look slightly more like an actual chicken.
